Luscious fresh water pearls, the sparkle of Swarovski crystals and the beauty of semi-precious stones and colourful beads all combine in the making of my designs.
I am a tapestry artist. My work is handwoven for public and private commission, and also for exhibition.
Tapestries range in scale from miniature to several metres square.
Contemporary jewellery which is extremely tactile and wearable. Using silver and gold wire with coloured silk threads designs are crated which are striking and full of energy.
My work consists of woven tapestry, textiles and paperworks, mainly on the theme of my diverse ancestry. I enjoy rich colours and textures and the creation of beautiful surfaces. The work can be tiny or huge, but it is always carefully made and has won numerous awards and grants.

From his workshop near Dunbar in East Lothian, John works mainly to commission on a wide range of bespoke furniture and related timber projects. These objects mostly involve Scottish hardwoods as the main material, and sometimes incorporate small metal, slate or reclaimed materials for detail.
John's furniture can be described as clean lined, simple and highly functional. And also has a sense of robustness where the natural beauty of the timber enhances the over all design.

Step into the 21st century of Scottish knitwear design and be astounded by the art of machine knitting as you have never seen it before. Sweaters, scarves, hats and much more made in 100% Shetland wool, lambswool, Irish linen and cotton. Lovely bright/subtle colours.
I am a mixed media, visual artist based near Edinburgh, Scotland. A constant inspiration for my work is the home and the relationship people have with the objects they put in their homes. I make art by exploring seemingly trivial household objects, and remake these by playfully transforming them, often using them as surrogates for the owner’s body, and, consequently drawing attention to their significance in helping to tell a story about the inhabitants’ life and the culture in which they lived.
