Hi my name is Alison and l design and make a unique array of designer dichroic glass jewellery, which comes alive when you move about. l also do a varied selection of heamatite jewellery which is known to have healing powers as well as a vast amount of rose quartz, black agate, amethyst, blue howlite and much more. My other craft is stained glass and l have a beautiful selection of designer mirrors, unique lamps, vibrant sun catchers, stunning window and wall panels, lovely glass picture frames and glass gifts.

Allison Weightman - Ceramics

Primarily working in hand-built Raku fired vessel forms, Allison lives and works on the North West Coast of Scotland.

What makes her work unique is that before putting her ceramics in to the kiln, she shoots the un-fired clay with a 12 bore shotgun. This technique produces an effect that is impossible to recreate in any other way.

Her pieces show the damage a gun can cause on something that has taken time, effort and creativity to make, drawing parallels with the effects of gun crime and war on the lives of innocent people.

I work with bone china clay combined with paper to create vessels which are each unique yet compliment each other as a series of works. Some vessels contain glass which is cast directly inside the piece - emulating liquid contained within the form.
