Allison Weightman - Ceramics
Primarily working in hand-built Raku fired vessel forms, Allison lives and works on the North West Coast of Scotland.
What makes her work unique is that before putting her ceramics in to the kiln, she shoots the un-fired clay with a 12 bore shotgun. This technique produces an effect that is impossible to recreate in any other way.
Her pieces show the damage a gun can cause on something that has taken time, effort and creativity to make, drawing parallels with the effects of gun crime and war on the lives of innocent people.Location:
