Sculptural Wool fascias, carpets, wearables and upholstery
I design and produce a wide range of contemporary ceramic giftware in conjunction with the small-scale production of bespoke functional tiles for the home. Using traditional tile-making techniques and high quality white earthenware, I create individual wall pieces and interior accessories such as coasters and pot stands - even occasionally something that isn't flat! Each piece is hand cut, drawn and glazed, making every one unique.
My work touches on animals, ancient mythologies and different cultures, folklore and the sea, with each piece telling its own story.
I like to experiment using different materials (eg molten glass and metal) where possible and hope that the finished product will have a domestic use as well as being decorative. All works are hand built /and or thrown on the wheel, using a diverse range of clay, glazes and glaze firings. Raku and stoneware firings produce vibrant copper lustres and rich oxide glazes.
Using porcelain as a core medium, Cheryl creates hand etched ceramic wall plaques and jewellery. Using collections of vintage photographs and letters as inspiration, she aims to preserve personal histories and sentimental values.
Chris Barnes produces thrown and handbuilt ceramics which he stoneware fires in a gas and woodburning kiln. The work is functional, with glaze decoration that makes use of the intrinsic qualities of reduction firing with a live flame powered kiln.
Chris makes pots for your kitchen and table.
Chris Pellow Designs offers bold, colourful and funky wearable art and whimsical home décor items created using Polymer clay, metals and other found materials.
