Ali works with textiles & mixed media commercially, for exhibition and to commission. She is a community tutor in the Lothians and runs workshops & classes in design & mixed media techniques from her studio “The Purple Thread Shed” near Edinburgh.
Nature is used directly in Amy's unique art, lights, mobiles, box framed pictures and cards. Leaves, flowers, shells and wood from Scotland are the inspirational elements and real components of her work.
Amy is also a textile and craft techniques tutor, able to tutor in a variety of skills and tailor workshops to each group's specific needs.

Mixed media textile art using contemporary and traditional idea's to create individual pieces incorporating recycled and found objects.
Bold and bright contemporary woven textiles; inspired by a dynamic mix of human and natural influences. Traditional techniques are updated using the latest computerised hand-weaving and industrial technology. Materials range from organic natural fibres to neoprene to recycled ropes.
I work with Fibre, Using many textile techniques - weaving, netting, knotting, coiling etc, into woven tapestries, 3-D sculptural forms and small decorative baskets. I also make paper which is made into books, and combined with other natural materials and fibres to make constructed textile pieces.
Anne is a designer and maker of hand built ceramics mainly working in porcelain.
Her ceramics are a personal and permanent response to places and the moments of randomness and impermanence that take place in them; often starting with a walk and including printing and writing haiku.
She is interested in collaborations, residencies and commissions.
The Association is a registered charity and is the umbrella organisation which provides resources and services to affilated Guilds of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers throughout the UK and abroad.
