Fiona focuses on the non-functional vessel and recently this has been informed by aspects of tourism. Her theme is the use of objects and images to evoke memories of a particular place using her own snapshots, postcards, and guidebooks. They have no function but as a souvenir to store a memory. At Homes & Interiors Scotland Exhibition 2008 two pieces, teatray and jug, use imagery from Pennsylvania while the third piece is a teatray called Second Street with images from Philadelphia, all inspired by a residency in the city. She trained at York College of Arts and Technology and graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1994. She exhibits across the UK. |
