Jessica Townsend

Her work is captivating, intriguing and incredibly beautiful. Exploring the theme of the "perfect home" as represented by a dolls house, she creates a miniature world which is both delicately fragile and dangerously brittle.

Jessica uses glass to express personal experiences. In these three suspended boxes she has combined the concept of perfection with key memories of childhood, families and the home. The dark colours imply negativity while the wallpaper print represents the desire to create a perfect home through decoration. However, decorating a box can not change events inside, and these boxes are designed to swing to express the feelings within.
