James Donald - Weaver

Edinburgh based weaver James Donald initially trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, where he now teaches weaving..

His label, PickOne, features woven scarves and shawls in Shetland Yarn inspired by the colours of the Scottish land and seascapes, and can claim high profile fans like actress Susan Sarandon. 

He exhibits regularly at the New York International Gift Fair and the San Francisco International Gift Fair.

James is co-owner of Edinburgh design shop Concrete Wardrobe, and is one of the featured makers in craftscotland's The C Word campaign. He recently received a creative development award from the Scottish Arts Council, enabling him to travel to Shetland to research and develop new techniques.
