Tin Shed Textiles is a small, family run, contemporary weaving business based in Hoswick, Shetland. Our aim is to offer a unique range of quality fine artworks, installation pieces and a small range of craft items. All my works are inspired by Shetland and the sea that surrounds us. We offer original art work framed or unframed, our own range of contemporary textiles, hand made cards and gift wear.

Shetland is a remote unspoilt Island which has its own very distinctive cultural, economic and textile tradition and Hoswick, a small fishing village to the south of the island shares in this tradition. It has its own tales to tell from the Hoswick Whale Caa to its own textile history all of which can be explored at the community run visitors centre.

The visitor centre was once a weaving shed and Tin Shed Textiles builds on this by taking inspiration from Shetlands diverse cultural history and breath taking scenery to produce contemporary textiles that offer a hand crafted provenance. The business offers a website shopping facility and an open studio which welcomes visitors who wish to witness the design process first hand or purchase items from our studio range. Shetland being a close knit community offers an unspoken support to its residents we like to promote this through our business by operating as an outlet for other small designer/makers.
