Born in the Highlands & now based in Nairn, Pete Gillies works in Decorative Glass Work & works of Art in a veriety of mediums. His art is highly influenced by nature after growing up by Loch Ness. All works are originals, no prints are taken. His work is very imaginative and works only with new ideas to keep his work fresh.
Pete studied glass work in Glasgow for several years then worked in a Restoration & Conservation Studio in Edinburgh working on many churches in & around Edinburgh. After moving back to the Highlands pete is now dedicating time to his own art & glass works. Currently he is expanding his glass designs using natural forest leaves in a original way to create what he calls Forest Hangers. His work can be found in several galleries around the Inverness area including Logie Steading Art Gallery, and can be seen regulary at Craft fairs under the banner of 'Exclusivley Highland'.
