The work is inspired by nature in the form of fluid rhythm and motion. Silver wire, silk thread are the main materials used with some gold detailing. The silver is often oxidised as the contrast between the blackened silver and the warm colour of gold is very striking. I aim to create extremely tactile jewellery which is full of movement. Varying shades of red are the preferred colour scheme as this gives the most vibrant effect and silk thread is used because I enjoy the combination of the soft material with the hard metal. Traditional metalwork techniques are used along with some textile techniques such as braiding and knotting. The main focus of work is bracelets and necklaces as I feel that this allows for more freedom due to the nature of working on a slightly larger scale.
