I am originally from France, where I trained in ceramic decoration at the Lycée Ganeron in Paris for three years, and then for a further year with two professional potters.
I now live in Stow, where I work in an old howff, which I have gradually been converting into a studio.
Over the past few years I have specialized in hand-painted tiles, and more recently I have concentrated on my pottery.
I now produce a distinctive style of stoneware pottery that takes its theme from the Scottish Borders countryside where I live, with an interesting appliqué technique applied to traditional forms. My sheep range has become a favourite with tourists and collectors alike. My work includes table and kitchenware, candle sconces, mirrors, earring holders and decorative framed tiles.
I sell mainly through craft and trade fairs, exhibitions, and a number of shops throughout Scotland and the USA, and directly to individuals worldwide through the Internet. I also enjoy making one-off pieces for galleries and private commission.
In the last five years I have taken part in founding, setting up and running the Crafters co-operative in Melrose. The co-operative is now a well-established thriving concern, with members from a wide variety of different craft backgrounds.
