Craft MakerAmanda Wells, Woodland Pottery Strontian, Lochaber Established 1993 Strontian Village centre AssociationsLochaber Crafts & Food Producers Association Accepts Commissions Price RangePrices from £3-£20 Visitor count: 383 At Woodland Pottery I produce a vast array of Slipcast and hand decorated pottery. Whether you prefer highly decorated pieces with a high glazed finish or something more 'natural' there is something for everyone. My painted designs range from beautiful rich cobalt blues and copper greens to fun and unique animal and bird designs, including sheep, Highland cows, ducks and hedgehogs. I produce both ornamental pieces and domestic/functional crockery. I work on site and you can see the pottery in its various stages of production. I do not use a potters wheel but slipcast my wares; a method more usually associated with industrial potteries and involves the use of liquid clay and moulds. Whilst this method results in the exact repetition of the basic form it does though allow for each piece to be individually handpainted - so no two pieces are exactly identical. I also have locally made wooden toys, garden ornaments and walking sticks in stock. |
