Ron Parker has been making wood sculptures since 1962, exploring the three-dimensional possibilities of grain and form, thus developing his talent and ability to shape these into sculptured pieces of particular charm.

The natural world provides his inspiration. He makes animals, including birds and fish, the human form full of movement, trees themselves and abstracts reflecting the beauty of land and seashore. Each piece is full of character be it dramatic or humorous, thought-provoking or wry. A large and varied selection is always available.

All are individually worked by hand from managed woods. No two are the same.

They are made from local hardwoods such as oak, elm yew, laburnum and rhododendron. He also uses fruit woods and the roots of ivy and rose.

Commissions are undertaken. Customers are also welcome to have their own wood made into a piece of their choosing.

Ron has taken part in many exhibitions and his work can be found in collections worldwide.

Also on offer are carve away days. Come and spend a day at the workshop overlooking unspoilt farmland, moor and mountain. Experience the satisfaction of working with wood in a totally different and individual way. Instruction and all materials are provided.
