Having lived here all my life, I find that as well as being inspired by the colours and textures of the Skye and Lochalsh landscape, I am also fascinated by the components that make up these aspects, so rather than try to reproduce nature, I use it.

I make my own paper by hand using a variety of organic materials such as flowers, petals, moss and grasses which I grow and pick locally. I produce a unique range of handmade cards and gift stationery, 'the Highland Roots collection', which incorporates a collage of my own handmade papers.

I have received commissions for many bespoke wedding and private stationery collections. Corporate clients have included the Royal Yacht Britannia. In 2002 HRH The Prince of Wales was given a box of 'Highland Roots' note cards.

In April 2000 I set up Highland Origins, a contemporary craft gallery which promotes work by artists and makers in Skye and Lochalsh, and this is where my studio is.
