The inspiration for my work comes from a continuing love and fascination of my island landscape. The eroded surface textures along the shoreline provide wonderful source material for work. Drawing and photography play an integral part in developing ideas which are then considered for images on silk. I now use digital imaging as a means of expression and find the visual language this allows me, tremendously exciting.

There is an inherent incompatibility between dyes and fabric paints, printing and painting on fabric and the unexpected gives rise to new avenues of discovery. Trying to combine the special qualities of hand-painting with those of new digital printing techniques is very challenging and I'm constantly surprised at just what is possible. Most of my work is on silk where its luminous quality reflects my island landscape. Accessories such as scarves, ties and waistcoats are available as multiples or 'one-offs' wallpanels/hangings are of special interest to me.
