I make furniture from trees.

The crisp clean designs that characterise my work result from a unique approach to wood as a material. I control the process from felling to finishing. Each log is selected and sawn with the final piece in mind. As a result each component of every table, chair or cabinet is perfectly suited to its function and the simple geometric designs bring out the character of the source wood to the full.

Most furniture is made from anonymous timber that has passed through many hands. For the most part the owners of these hands know little and care less where the wood will end up. I know where each tree I use has grown and I buy only from landowners that are managing their woods for long-term sustainability.

Reducing the impact to the environment doesn't have to mean wearing a hair shirt. All of my pieces are designed to be a delight to use and are finished to the highest standards. I have a range of designs that are normally held in stock and sold through galleries. I am also happy to take on private and public commissions of all sizes and produce pieces for exhibition.
