I am a tapestry artist. My work is handwoven for public and private commission, and also for exhibition.

The images are abstract in design and are translations from small paintings or collages. They have combinations of painterly areas; flat planes of colour; drawn and printed marks.

Colour is the dominant theme and, whilst the images are abstract, plants and flowers have become a big inspiration behind the work.

Tapestries range in scale from miniature to several metres square. Yarns used are wool, cotton, linen, embroidery and metallic threads.

Public commissions include the House of Lords, the Scottish Executive and Bank of China. Work is held in public collections including Aberdeen Art Gallery and the City Art Centre, Edinburgh.

I have exhibited widely in the UK and more recently regularly in the USA.
