Keith and Beryl Dawdry are long established artist / potters. They live and work in the former School and School House in Pinmore, off the A714, 4 miles south of Girvan, South Ayrshire. These are country studios in an idyllic landscape offering inspiration and unique raw materials for the potter’s art.

Ancient peoples settled these lush valleys and Keith and Beryl’s work pays homage to the Pictish heritage all around them. Pinmore is within the ancient Kingdom of Carrick, one of the original three divisions of Galloway, a country older than Scotland and part of a Celtic nation, which stretched to the Urals.

The Celts were inspired metal smiths and traders with many peoples in the ancient world. Against this background, Keith and Beryl have woven a romantic theme, which underpins all their creative works.
Beryl sculpts figurative pieces, exploring ancient seafarers, druidic leaders, oriental dignitaries and symbolic creatures. Keith throws, alters and hand builds vessels for functional use in special occasions and decorative use within lifestyle interiors.

They often work together, combining their skills on commissioned pieces or special one-offs. Their newly refurbished studios are open all year round, with viewing by appointment.
