John Harmer is an English designer, now living in Scotland and practicing calligraphy. For the local maker (and tourists) I produce greetings cards and framed panels incorporating collages of found objects. The most important element is the use of Shetland language. My cards are the only ones available using Shetland poetry, prose and local sayings, and in my small way I am keeping the language alive. I can also, of course, utilise any other sources of words, particularly Shakespeare. Commissions can be undertaken for special cards or commemoration certificates for any occasion.
