My textiles are inspired by the Scottish landscape, natural form and historical costume. They are informed by research done while travelling, studying traditional and indigenous processes. Many of my fabrics involve a range of textile techniques and interdisciplinary work. Some are additionally manipulated and embellished with stitch to create a textured surface. Collections include fashion accessories, gallery textiles and jewellery.

Shibori Textiles

These are hand made using the traditional Japanese process of resist dyeing. By wrapping, folding, tying and stitching material in various manners, the dye only adheres to exposed areas. The resulting patterns and textures are entirely unique. Fabrics used include cashmere, silk, cotton, linen and silk velvet.

Metallic Textiles

A range of Shibori textiles are treated with electrolysis, to achieve a fine coating of silver, copper or gold. A variety of finishes are applied to achieve an aged appearance.
