I am fascinated by the formative years of children, the make believe worlds that they create for themselves, introducing chaos and disorder. This belief runs alongside the idyllic beauty of childhood. The imposed adult perception of innocence and purity a time filled with whimsical play.

My work is a tribute to all that childhood has to offer. Working from collected photographs I enjoy the anonymity as I know nothing about the children or their circumstances therefore I can create my own 'scenes'. Once I have a reference I feel I can use I produce some drawings where I play with a particular expressive quality I want to exude before modelling in clay. These are then further developed in wax before casting them in glass. They in turn are then polished and engraved.
