My contemporary jewellery designs are all inspired by my photographic images of light with the theme of movement, fragility and protection. I use fine wire and metallic threads to represent the spontaneous lines and the detail involved in each light photograph. I think my photographs and jewellery reflect and capture the excitement and energy associated with city nightlife where you are surrounded by the darkness of night yet observe many forms of light and colour consciously or subconsciously.

I have recently returned from a Design Research Trip where I travelled all over Japan. I spent over a month taking lots of inspirational light photographs and experienced japanese culture, architecture and design. I visited galleries and design shops looking at japanese textiles, paper and photography which has influenced new designs for my jewellery. It has definitely given me lots of fresh ideas for new collections of work.

I currently work and sell from my studio , The DD4 Workshop, in the the west end of Glasgow and my stockists are Form,The Lighthouse Shop - Glasgow, Atelier Jewellers - St Andrews, and Citizen Smith - Lucca, Italy.
