I work in wood in different disciplines: carving, antique furniture repairs, model making, violin and bow repairs, jewellery, and one off pieces. I worked with a sculptor, David Gilbert, and then set up on my own. I had a job carving replica pieces missing from furniture as well as general repairs and replacing bits (matching wood, grain and stain).

My major modelling was making about 30 scale model boats for a client. I spent a summer making wooden jewellery, mainly pendants. I have also made jewelry boxes.

In the last ten years I have been repairing fiddles and bows and rehairing bows. I repair for the Highland Council. I often submit to the An Tuireann Arts Centre Open Exhibition. Recently (August 2003) they asked me to make a piece in connection with the bicentenary of the first emigration from Skye to Prince Edward Island. I made a detailed model of a croft house. Generally speaking I do one off pieces but would do a small run if that was required.
