The sea, machair, hills and woodlands of Galloway are inspiration and influence for my work with textiles. Apart from imported indigo and madder, I use local plants to dye yarns. Using the tactile quality of textiles as a background for the block-printed image places contemporary concepts alongside traditional craft techniques.
