Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor produces a wide range of textiles, from architectural commissions to domestic linens. She has made site-specific work for a variety of spaces including a castle, crematorium chapel, hospital atrium and dining room, theatre, office building and quayside. In her role as a research lecturer at Glasgow School of Art, she plans to work with an architect to explore fully integrated textiles with emphasis on alternative applications. Launching her first collection of hand-printed table linen in 2001, two further ranges have since been introduced; these designs take inspiration from culinary motifs.

There is a theme of memory and the home running through much of her work and photographing the everyday is often a starting point. Images have their context altered through being magnified, manipulated or abstracted, revealing new intimate 'landscapes'. Experimenting with scale and repetition, she creates layers and visual rhythms that evoke a sense of recognition and seek to capture a particular moment, atmosphere or environment.
