The creative act is a complex, expulsive event. It is an event that combines our inner being and experiences with a knowledge of how to make things and a fearlessness to expose our inner being -Henry Halem, ‘Glass Notes : A Reference For The Visual Artist’ I feel that art is a powerful, visual language and vehicle for expression, that communicates on many levels - aesthetic, emotional or intellectual. In my own practice I use light, colour and form to communicate my understanding and wonder of the nature of being and my experience of the natural world, and I strive to express my fascination with perception. Initially, I like to work in an intuitive and spontaneous way, which, due to the technical requirements involved in making the work, becomes a meditative process. My work is continually evolving. I aim for it to be inspiring, thought provoking and perhaps convey a sense of mystery.
