Statement I am interested in mark making, which holds an element of spontaneity and exploration. The human figure is broken down into sculptural shapes, surrounded by random marks as a means of expressing it in a light that is not necessarily a conformed beauty but a true depiction of life around us. These drawings are complemented by a fascination of pattern, which will often place these figures into interiors. My work also has a narrative element,which can be triggered by snippets of conversation, which is then translated into a concrete image. This quirkiness is reflected in the titles of my work.
