Katie Pica graduated in 2006 with first class honours from the jewellery and metal design course at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee.
Inspired by the beauty, emotion and form of the face and how it is decorated in different cultures lead to her research into face casting techniques which she utilised to create these theatrical designs.
Working in both base and precious metals, she developed her techniques in hydraulic die forming. Form and symmetrical pattern are integral aspects of her designs which are combined to create these dramatic pieces.
Her work has been described as having an "astute high-fashion feel" (Moira Jeffrey, 26/05/06, The Herald)
