Unique and beautiful silk designs by Pamela Rawlinson.

I produce contemporary scarves and wall hangings using the highest quality silk, usually crepe de chine. All my work is meticulously designed and hand-painted so that each scarf and wall hanging becomes a truly unique and luxurious item to treasure.

The creation of each piece is a lengthy process. The dyes used in the designs are carefully mixed by hand to ensure that the correct colours are produced. Once the background colour for the scarf or wall hanging is established the chosen design is then hand-painted. Only the finest quality, steam-fixed acid/reactive dyes are used to ensure a vibrant and beautiful finish.

My inspirations are derived from a variety of sources. Plants and natural forms are common themes, but a keen eye for detail is a prerequisite for the designs I produce. I find the development of a design from sketch book through to finished fabric fascinating and rewarding as inevitably this process leads to further enhancement of the design.
