As part of her Art To Wear project, Jilli Blackwood will set up a residence with the National Museum of Scotland during Meet Your Maker to work on a kilted skirt. The skirt will be made from hand dyed silks of various weights and fabrics, interspersed with strips of leather. The embroidered fabric will measure seven metres in length before it is pleated into sculptural kilted skirt, reminiscent of a Scottish kilt. Throughout the process there will be samples of material available for visitors to touch and to study. Visit Jilli's website >>
