Personal Statement

Divas Design is a textile based studio run by Dawn Cawthra-Hewitt, Christine Wallace and Kirsty Wallace, with skills including spinning, weaving, book binding, sewing, embroidery felt and paper making. The 'Three Divas' create innovative, contemporary fashion accessories and soft furnishings, the range includes scarves, hats, corsages, jewellery, cushions and bags.

Each creation incorporates natural and man made materials, largely sourced from Scotland. Felted pieces are made from Merino wool and silk, while all tweed pieces are made from cloth of Scottish makers -Harris Tweed, Peterhead and Anta fabrics.

The studio also hosts weekend courses on weaving, felt making and sewing and design.
