‘The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page’ St Augustus
GraceInk Design produces hand-crafted screen printed textile interior furnishing products and paper giftware inspired by travels to intriguing and inspiring cultures around the world.
Working from a WASPS studio alongside 13 other artists, Grace produces functional art for the home with collections of cushions, table linen and other fabrics such as repeated lengths using screen-print and her own illustrations. Her first love is the art of the repeat, creating interior sized fabrics depicting everything from birdcages and boats to shoes and trinket boxes squashed together at Indian markets. All the artwork used is hand illustrated and most products from initial idea to end product are created by Grace in natural fabrics and an array of colour options.
Grace was selected as one of 24 of the best Textile Design Graduates (UK) by Texprint in 2007 and has had the opportunity to exhibit her work at several shows worldwide. She is also a member of the Surface Design Association. Starting up her own business was a natural progression and being able to return to the beautiful Scottish Borders where she studied has been a fantastic opportunity.
