Aileen was brought up & worked in Strathdon - the land of the Lonach Highlanders, where she was taught Glass Engraving by Andrew Lawson Johnston, who also enabled her to learn sandblasting techniques in Crieff from Stuart Strathearn.
Aileen now works from home, in Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands in the Cairngorm National Park.
She hand engraves traditional designs, lettering & tries new ideas to keep Scotland alive on the glass, using a variety of diamond cutting tools with her drill engraver & a steady hand to get free flowing decorative results.
One off pieces are created in pet portraits, buildings, wildlife, inscriptions, etc, and are offered for sale in local Art & Craft shops to Tomintoul.
Aileen also exhibits with Creative Cairngorms & is a Craft Member of The Guild of Glass Engravers.
Year Established: April 2008
