Personal Statement

I am a product of the Scottish landscape. My work reflects the ancient and the modern of my nations past and future. This work comes from the bog, the hill, the shore. It comes form the unconscious and therefore contains within it many possiblities of communicating directly with the observer at a primitive level.

Symbols, pictures, carvings are a series of ideaographic marks which suggest and embrace. The mythical, the ancient and the unsaid penetrates, the conscious and the unconscious mind become fused.
