I make wheel-thrown Earthenware, stoneware and burnished Raku vessels through which I try to reflect the light, landscape and heritage of my Orcadian surroundings. These range from "Peedie Bird" mugs to large vases and commissioned bowls.
I am influenced by the forms of Lucie Rie, but continue to experiment as my skills develop. Up to this point I have concentrated on building a reputation here in Orkney, where my work is in two outlets, but I am being sponsored by the local Council to attend a coming Trade Fair and hope to attract more attention on the Scottish mainland through this. I also hope to open my own gallery later this year, if I am given planning permission to convert my garage.
Year Established: June 2010
