I have designed and made bags since 2007 using material from recycled clothes. This was a project that started accidentally when unpicking the back pockets of a pair of jeans to use in another project (I can't remember what now) and thinking, why not use all of the material from the jeans to make a bag??? This started a whole new hobby and I have since designed several one off bags for friends, family and myself all of which can be seen on My Flickr page.
The bags that I design and create are handmade using material obtained from recycling clothes and from upholstery fabrics. Because the majority of the material I use is not 'off the role', each bag is unique.
Influences for my designs include the art nouveau, de stijl and art deco art movements, as well as surrealist art which is reflected in the abstract shapes I have used in some of my earlier designs.
