Working to commission to create forged metalwork both functional and sculptural, Shona Johnson is part of the team of Artist Blacksmiths at Ratho Byres Forge.
The progressive approach developed at Ratho Byres Forge combines metal working techniques from ancient times, contemporary design and the innovative use of modern technology. Our well equipped forge and experienced team of craftsmen and engineers enable us to approach each new commission with confidence. Commissions include automated gates, garden sculpture, balconies, staircases, candelabra, entrance features and public sculpture to name but a few. Experienced in working with architects and contractors, we have designed, created and installed many large scale works within the public domain. Our work has a recognisable style and a reputation for quality that is second to none in Scotland.
