About Louise Oppenheimer Tapestry

Personal Statement

Since completing her degree in fine art at Maidstone College of Art, Louise has been weaving tapestries and in 2007 built a dedicated studio into which she welcomes visitors.
Situated in the beautiful Kilmartin Glen, Argyll, close to the ancient hill fort of Dunadd, Louise's studio is a light and airy space.
Welcoming visitors, Louise is keen to show how a small sketch inspires a tactile journey, many drawings are on show as well as finished and unfinished work.
The surrounding land and waterscape with the unseen but felt forces of time and weather, all inspire her to produce work that can be seen as abstract patterns or translations of place. The slow process of using fingers as her only tool, gives a true measure of time allowing a wealth of detail and development from beginning to end.
Workshops can be arranged for small groups or individuals and both prints and cards are available to buy.

Year Established: 2007
