About Me

Personal Statement

Susan has been a keen craft person for many years, mastering applications using textiles, wood and paper. More recently Susan has focused on the craft of bookbinding and has spent several years learning and developing an understanding of this craft and improving her technique. She uses a variety of materials which are often inspired by the seashore and woodland surrounding her coastal home.
Many of Susan's journals are made using reclaimed, recycled or salvaged items such as leather, hessian, vinyl, slate, copper and wood, breathing new life into discarded and unwanted objects. She will often incorporate pebbles, driftwood, sea glass and twigs on her book covers as a keepsake from the North East.
Trading under the name ADRIFT alongside Camille Rust, Woodworker, they exhibit at Craft Shows, Galleries and through their online shop.
