About Me

Personal Statement

Hannah trained at J&P Coats in Paisley and worked as a diagram artist and crochet and knitwear designer before becoming a student at Glasgow School of Art where she graduated in Embroidery and Weaving in 1967. Hannah then did a postgraduate in Embroidery and Weaving in Birmingham College of Art before teaching at Glasgow School of art for 22 years until 1990.

Hannah is a published author of the 1970's book 'Three Dimensional Embroidery'.
She was a lecturer for the Embroiderers Guild, and the Arts Council and has undertaken many church commissions including Edinburgh Castle and Cardross Church.

In 1970 Hannah was invited by the Embroiderers Guild of New South Wales to undertake a three month lecture tour.

Her work is also in many private collections and other churches.
Hannah is inspired by surfaces and objects in nature and incorporates multimedia techniques.
