Museum nan Eilean, the local authority museums service for the Western Isle is dedicated to the collection and preservation of material and evidence relating to all aspects of the rich and varied history and environment of the Western Isles and to the widest dissemination of this through exhibition, display and interpretative programmes to encourage a deeper awareness of its physical, cultural and economic environment for both the islands' communities and their visitors.
