Location: MacPhail Centre, Mill Street, Ullapool, Ross-shire, IV262UN.
Experimental embroidery course suitable for both beginners and the experienced.
Explore the potential of a wide range of surface materials for the sumptuous application of stitchwork - by machine or by hand. Working to your own chosen theme, layer and embellish a series of uniquely-created surfaces into a succession of intricate small works, which can either be bound into a richly-decorated book of experimental embroidery samplers or, at a later date, mounted for wall display.
This week is suitable for experienced and beginner sewers and also for practicing artists who wish to explore the possibilities of textiles as a new medium.
All materials and tools are provided, though anyone owning their own sewing machine would benefit from bringing it along so that they can 'rediscover' its creative potential!
