In our Queens Diamond Jubilee year, join us in 1952 as we celebrate the Queens Coronation.
It’s February, 1952 and a young lady named Elizabeth is about to have her whole world changed as she becomes Queen of the United Kingdom and the head of state of countless more countries.
This was not just a time of change for Queen Elizabeth II but the 1950’s also so a great deal of social change for all Britons, from changes in housing and our daily life to changes in entertainment and how we spent our leisure time.
As the nation gears up to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June join us at the People’s Palace as we step back in time to celebrate the coronation of the new queen and discover the changes that are about to take place. We will have live music and dancers (who will show you some moves).
There will be craft activities and live interpretation and if you have ever wanted to have your face on a stamp, this is your chance.
Sunday 20 May 1–4 pm
