An exhibition of new work created by celebrated ceramicist David Cohen will go on show this Saturday the 11th of August at Aberdeen Art Gallery.

Originally from the USA, David Cohen trained at Edinburgh College of Art and went on to lecture there from 1965 to 1986. He then became Head of Ceramics at Glasgow School of Art. This show celebrates his 80th birthday and explains his philosophy as well demonstrating his continuing creativity.

Throughout his long career as a teacher David developed his own work, experimenting with the Raku firing process which uses both fire and smoke to create unique patterns and designs. His prolific output continues; all the work in this exhibition was created in the past year.
