One day tapestry workshops: Technical Taster

Improve and refine your weaving skills with a series of one-day intensive workshops

These Saturday sessions will run from 10am to 4pm, on the following dates: 

Saturday 7 January: Colour blending with multi-weft bundles
Saturday 4 February: Weaving the perfect circle
Saturday 4 March: Off the square – making a shaped a tapestry
Saturday 1 April: Developing ideas - Designing for tapestry

Level: Developing weavers

Saturday sessions for designed for students who have a basic knowledge of weaving and are wishing to develop and build on existing skills. The workshop is structured to provide individual tuition in small groups of four to six students.

About your tutor

Fiona Hutchison graduated from the tapestry department, Edinburgh College of Art in 1985. She exhibits regularly in the UK, Europe and internationally. As well as teaching many independent workshops and mentoring emerging artists she also teaches tapestry weaving and stitched textiles for the department of Life Long Learning at Edinburgh University (Edinburgh College of Art).

Saturday workshops cost £65. Selection of materials, tea and coffee included.
