British Council, Applied Arts Scotland and Oax-i-fornia invite proposals from Scotland-based designers for a residency in Oaxaca, Mexico
Closing date: 7 Aug 2019
The British Council, Applied Arts Scotland and Oax-i-fornia are inviting proposals from Scotland and Mexico-based designers to take part in a residency in Oaxaca, a region in Mexico famous for its craft traditions.
Crafting Futures Mexico is a three week experimental collaboration that brings together a Scotland-based designer/maker, a Mexican designer, and two Oaxacan design graduates, to work with a select group of artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico to develop prototype products.
A separate call has been issued for participants in a Scotland 2019 residency, taking place during September 2019 on the Isle of Lewis and in Braemar working with Mexican textile makers. You are welcome to apply to take part in one or both residencies. Selection for each residency will take place separately, and applicants may be selected for one or both opportunities. Visit AAS website and subscribe to newsletter for news on projects.
Many opportunities are uploaded by craft people, places, and organisations. Craft Scotland does not organise the opportunities and is not responsible for incorrect details. Any queries should be directed to the organiser.
