Introduction to Blacksmithing is a one-day course led by SSW Technician, Michael Hautemulle, and offers an introduction to the basic technical aspects of blacksmithing. Participants will learn how to make a fire poker from a piece of mild steel square bar which they can take away with them at the end of the day.
Through making the poker, participants will be introduced to a diverse range of blacksmithing techniques including drawing out, hammering and bending as well as how to use and regulate a forge.
If you have any suggestions, questions or requirements relating to accessibility at SSW, please get in touch and they will make every effort to support you to visit.
