Choose a half-day workshop to create your own willow platter, or explore a wider variety of techniques and make a willow basket in a full-day workshop.
Led by artist and forager Max Johnson, all workshops are suitable for beginners. With materials and equipment provided, you will learn willow weaving techniques that have been used in Scotland and throughout Europe for hundreds of years.
All tickets include museum admission on the day.
- All materials and equipment will be provided.
- The Platter Making Workshop lasts around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- The Basket Making Workshop lasts 5 hours, with a 1-hour break for lunch. Lunch is not provided, however participants are welcome to visit the museum café or bring a picnic to eat outdoors.
Water, tea and coffee will be provided at the start of each workshop.
