Saturdays | 1030 – 1700
22nd, 29th Sept, 6th and 20th Oct
Over 4 sessions this course will introduce you to essential wood workshop practices used for making contemporary sculpture. The course will cover the technicalities of safely operating wood working machinery and will teach you techniques of fixing, gluing, sanding, and finishing materials. In a hands-on environment, you will work towards your own sculptural project supported by tuition on the making of sculptural forms, plinths, stretchers, frames, and armatures.
From a background in psychology and healthcare, Tim Sandys returned to full time-education to study fine art at Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design followed by the MFA programme at the Glasgow School of Art. Currently, Tim’s practice involves itself in the trappings of societal norms and civilian infrastructure, using actions, interventions, drawings, film, sound pieces and dominantly sculpture.
